Munich’s “Franz Josef Strauss” Airport was one of the busiest in Europe in 2019. Since its opening in the early 1990s, it has steadily expanded – today, guests can enjoy around 60 restaurants and cafés, along with 150 shops across two terminals. We have put together useful information for your arrival and helpful tips for your visit.

Directions and Parking: 

  • Lufthansa Express Bus: Does not have a lifting platform 
  • All car parks feature designated spaces for people with disabilities. 
  • Wheelchair users can operate all pay machines. 
  • One pay machine of each group is designated for hearing impaired guests.

Access:

The airport offers floor level & step-free access. 
Barrier-free paths and elevators take passengers to the departure areas in Terminals 1 and 2 and facilitate independent movement between the levels.

Restrooms:

Website: Barrier-free WC (accessible from the front, right and left) in all terminals

Shower and barrier-free WC with recliner and lifter: located between Munich Airport Centre and Terminal 1, Module B. The key is available in the Service Centre in Terminal 1 upon a deposit payment.
